Conducted David Virelles’ Nosotros Ensemble’s world premiere of Ọrọ at Carnegie Hall’s Zankel Hall — a multimedia work for the Nosotros Ensemble built around the rhythmic language and counterpoint of the sacred Batá drums. The program, curated by Tania León, also included works by Henry Threadgill and Tania León’s piano-percussion duo A la par.
